Queer sex ed
First of all, “Let’s Talk About (Queer) Sex” is a panel discussion and Q&A featuring sex educators from around the central Victorian goldfields, talking about queer sex, sex education, and all the stuff we missed out on learning in school. After the panel discussion there’ll be a Q&A, “You Can’t Ask That” style, where you can anonymously ask the questions you’ve always wondered about.
This is the first time we’ve run a sex ed event as part of Frolic Festival. Adult sex ed is hard to come by, adult queer sex ed even more so… and adult queer sex ed in a regional area? Unheard of! So get your sexy butt along to this first-ever event and learn a few things.
On Sunday Tom Hodgson and I will be reprising our popular walking tour of Ballarat’s CBD, talking about queer live in Ballarat and the surrounding region during the gold rush. Learn about colonial crossdressing, gay theatricals, scandalous cases in the courtrooms and the press, and Ballarat’s very own queer bushranger!
